Biography

I joined U-M as a PREP scholar and stayed for graduate school where I earned a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology studying the convergence of telomere biology, hematopoiesis, and reproduction in a specific mouse model of human disease. I am passionate about advocating for students, especially those belonging to historically marginalized communities.

Advice for new students: Take a breath and try not to be overwhelmed. You’re embarking on something brand new and it’s okay to be nervous. Don’t be scared to ask for help at any point. We want you to succeed and are committed to helping you get there.

Favorite quote: “I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” – Maya Angelou

Favorite free time activities or hobbies: When I’m not working, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, home projects with the music turned up, or experimenting in the kitchen.
