Prof. El-Tawil to Receive Raymond C. Reese Research Prize
CEE Prof. Sherif El-Tawil, the Antoine E. Naaman Collegiate Professor, will receive the 2023 Raymond C. Reese Research Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Structural Engineering Institute. Prof. El-Tawil and his writing team will be recognized for the paper “Performance-Based Design Framework for Concrete Barriers Subjected to Truck Collision,” which appeared in the Journal of Bridge Engineering, in August 2021.This will be the second time he is receiving this national award, which will be given during ASCE’s Structures Congress to be held in New Orleans in May. At the same meeting, Prof. El-Tawil will also be recognized for ASCE’s Shortridge Hardesty Award, which he received several months ago.
